Teacher Feature: Tiffany Nickerson, Northampton Elementary
The saying “all roads lead home” couldn’t be more true for passionate Northampton Elementary first-grade Dual Language teacher Ms. Tiffany Nickerson.
This well-rounded educator and Klein ISD Alumna—she attended Northampton Elementary, Hildebrandt Intermediate, and Klein Oak High School—is ecstatic to teach in the same elementary school where she began her education journey.
“I was so excited when I got the chance to student-teach at Northampton, but I never dreamed of starting my teaching career where it all began,” Ms. Nickerson said. “Northampton holds such a special place in my heart, and to be back teaching in the same classrooms with the same teachers I had is such a surreal experience. Northampton shaped me into the person I am today, and I am beyond blessed to be shaping the next generation in the same building.”
Ms. Nickerson always knew she wanted to be in education. Her motivation for the career path stems from her experiences as a student and the many teachers and staff who lovingly guided her along the way.
“When I was a child, learning was difficult. I had to really work at it, but I had some of the best teachers at Northampton who made learning fun even if it was hard,” Ms. Nickerson said. “They made me feel important. That anything was possible with a little effort. My teachers lifted me up and helped me love learning. This is what I strive to do every day with my students. I became a teacher to help lift up my students and help them fall in love with learning even if it’s difficult.”
This well-rounded educator is passionate about teaching her Dual Language students and finds fulfillment in engaging with students inside and outside the classroom. She is also proud to have had the opportunity to coach the school’s Destination Imagination (DI) team.
“One of my favorite things at Northampton was being part of Destination Imagination for two years,” Ms. Nickerson said. “Last year, I was given a chance to coach my DI team and had an amazing time building memories with our students.”
Ms. Nickerson is proud to be an educator, like her mother, Ms. Amanda Wuensche. Ms. Wuensche has been in Klein ISD for 29 years and has served as Hildebrandt Intermediate’s Librarian for 22 years. Ms. Nickerson also has two younger sisters who are currently on the path to becoming teachers. The love of education and serving the next generation is evident in this family line.
We are so grateful for Ms. Nickerson and all she does for her Northampton Elementary community. Our #KleinFamily is truly blessed to have her back at home, instilling a love of education in the next generation.
